Putney heats up with performing arts mecca Sandglass Theater’s Winter Sunshine Series, a welcome interlude between shoveling the walkway (again!) and brushing snow off the car. The weekly respite from frigid temps begins with "Cardboard Explosion!" from Paper Heart Puppets, a fantastical all-ages experience that delivers mirth, curiosity and laughter in spades. Master puppeteer, builder and educator Brad Shur captains the whimsical production of never-before-seen stories, brought to life by the power of imagination and — you guessed it! — cardboard. With some help from the audience, basic brown boxes transform into elaborate characters, then spring to life right before your eyes.
