This Sunday, outdoor adventurers can explore Burlington and Winooski by land and by water. In partnership with the Winooski Valley Park District and the City of Winooski, the Friends of the Winooski River invites adults and families to participate in the Winooski Pedal and Paddle. This inaugural event begins at Burlington’s Ethan Allen Homestead, where active bodies board bikes for a four-mile ride through the Intervale to the Onion City. There, folks swap bicycles for kayaks and canoes, then paddle back to the homestead for picnicking, music and games. This Winooski River watershed benefit isn’t a race — feel free to make it a workout or simply take it easy and enjoy the scenery.
