Hark! The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops concert hits a high note with a program of music from around the globe. Under the baton of guest conductor Anne Decker, instrumentalists give rousing renditions of Russian works such as Alexander Glazunov’s “Winter” and selections from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. Syrian composer Suad Bushnaq is on hand for a performance of her piece titled “Tomorrow.” Players also make spirits bright with American classics such as “Sleigh Ride.” Audience members, you may want to do some vocal warm-ups: Festive concerts in Barre, Burlington and Rutland culminate in Christmas sing-alongs.
