With harvest festivals in full swing, apples, pumpkins and hayrides are all the rage. But when it comes to all things fiber, the Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival is in a class all its own. Held at the Tunbridge World’s Fairgrounds, this annual event attracts more than 70 vendors, who offer demos, workshops, products and handmade wares that celebrate centuries-old craftsmanship. Brightly colored yarns and knitwear give way to the animal barn, where sheep, llamas, alpacas, goats and rabbits display their luxurious coats in all their glory. Heading to the fields, festivalgoers round out the pastoral party with sheering and sheepdog demonstrations.
