'Verbum est Res: Rendering Divinity in the Book of Kells'

The Book of Kells is famous for the vibrancy of its decoration and the intricacy of its designs. Professor Ben Tilghman of Lawrence University explores how the calligraphy and ornament in the manuscript and related works represent an effort by its makers to solve the problem of depicting an invisible and unknowable god.
