Montréal’s neo-psychedelic five-piece UUBBUURRUU have some weird, celestial stuff floating around in their collective consciousness. Their 2015 EP, Swamp Ritual, is merely a steppingstone in their lofty plan to vault themselves into the great expanse. They hoped to launch an intergalactic vessel of some kind in 2016 but seem to have settled on touring Europe and northeastern North America instead. Hoping to someday commune with the astral plane, the band takes one step closer with every fuzzy guitar lick on trippy cuts such as “Cosmic Cannibalism” and “Laying in an Angel’s Corpse.” Elevate your mind with UUBBUURRUU on Friday, December 16, at the Monkey House in Winooski.
