'The Portal' Summer Light Party

“Ornithology crosses into poetry at some point,” wrote Burlington artist Bruce R. MacDonald in a March blog post, filed under “BRM Current Thinking.” The sweet, meandering letter that follows is a reflection on birds, bones (his weigh approximately 24 pounds), the coming of warmer days, and humans’ “invisible wings” — which MacDonald identifies as having to do with art. Unlike some writers, MacDonald is just as captivating in conversation as in text. Any and all comers will have the chance to meet him in person and absorb his captivating light sculptures at his seasonal party this Thursday, June 14, from 5 to 10 p.m. at MacDonald’s studio/HAVOC Gallery. In addition to new works and the final member of his periodic-table-inspired series “The Visible Indivisibles,” guests can see paintings by Burlington newcomer Stoney. As MacDonald noted in his March missive, “To truly ‘see’ my art requires your presence. It’s a curse that I accept.”
