The Green Mountain Oldtime Workshop Weekend keeps traditional tunes alive through a mix of workshops, concerts and immersive musical gatherings across Cabot. A red-hot dance party helmed by Ernest James Zydeco follows a potluck meal on Friday evening at the Willey Building Auditorium. Saturday kicks things up a notch with a dozen seminars — from fiddle, clawhammer banjo and advanced mandolin to harmony singing — at three venues before a performance from the workshops’ teachers and a high-energy square dance. Sunday rounds out the affair with an afternoon of community jam sessions honoring Appalachian and Creole traditions.
