The Green Mountain State is the star of the show at the Summer Cinema Slam, a first-time event showcasing films that were made either in Vermont or with Vermonters behind the camera. Cinephiles settle in to view four short projects that give way to the featured movie, Loser’s Crown (pictured), directed by Colin Thompson, who will be in attendance. A lively intermission offers fans a chance to mingle with filmmakers and fuel up on tasty fare and craft brews. Burlington-based country singer Lowell Thompson (Colin’s brother) provides the soundtrack for this celebration of local art, music and food benefiting the Brattleboro Film Festival.
