Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, the Suitcase Junket

Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds prefer to keep things simple. Asked about her band’s recent rise to national acclaim, front woman Arleigh Kincheloe states, “It’s loud, fun and it’s supposed to make you feel good.” Just because it’s obvious, doesn’t mean it’s not true. The group’s latest record, The Weather Below, bears out Kincheloe’s assessment with a throttled up blend of rock and soul that’s had critics from the Wall Street Journal to the New Yorker singing their praises.
