Shana Falana, the Abyssmals, Dino Bravo

Echoes of ’80s dream-pop and post-punk bands such as Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees can be heard in the music of Shana Falana. Much of the material on her 2016 album, Here Comes the Wave, relates to her real life struggles with addiction and how she overcame it. The Kingston, N.Y., indie rocker’s gothic guitars transmit a wispy feeling of disillusionment, underscoring the artist’s dark subject matter.
