Festival season is upon us, and Roots on the River in Bellows Falls is among those kicking it off. For four nights, the tiny town on the Connecticut River will be packed with performers plucking and picking in the styles of their forebears. The acts range from up-and-comers such as the Steel Wheels (pictured), who harmoniously blend Americana and blues sounds, to old-timers such as Dave Alvin of the Blasters. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With performances in the tent behind the Rodeway Inn, at Pleasant Valley Brewing and the popular Sunday show at the Rockingham Meeting House, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
