Rickey Gard Diamond

In the introduction to her new book, Screwnomics: How Our Economy Works Against Women and Real Ways to Make Lasting Change, author Rickey Gard Diamond explains its title in no uncertain terms. “Screwnomics is my word for the unspoken but widely applied economic theory that women should always work for less, or better, for free,” she writes. In an effort to empower female readers to engage in the country’s economic conversation, the author breaks down definitions, reexamines male-centric history and shines a light on female experiences. Proceeds from Thursday’s book launch benefit the Vermont Foodbank.
