Remember when a cappella singing was relegated to college campuses and the PBS educational series “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?” Wake up! It’s 2017, and we’re living in the age of “Glee,” Pitch Perfect and Pentatonix. The latter five-piece vocal group from Arlington, Texas, reached household-name status in 2011 after they won the third season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off.” Known for scintillating renditions of iconic pop songs, fast-paced medleys and original tunes, the band brings down the house with just its members’ voices. Pentatonix perform on Sunday, September 3, at the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction.
