'Passages'

Shelburne’s Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery hosts an exhibition of paintings by 16 local artists, including gallery newcomers Kate Longmaid and Jon Young. The works on view are primarily representational landscapes, though there is abstract, portraiture and still life, as well. Influences are mixed — Byron Geigel’s “The Kingdom Series 2” is decidedly impressionist, while Bonnie Acker’s untitled abstracted landscape is Rothko-esque in its vaguely rectangular fields of color. Other participating artists are Miriam Adams, Elizabeth Allen, Annelein Beukenkamp, Kevin Fahey, David Maille, Janet McKenzie, Virginia McNeice, Gail Salzman, Dianne Shullenberger, David Smith, Adelaide Murphy Tyrol and Shiao-Ping Wang.
