What would it sound like if Johann Sebastian Bach composed an iPhone ringtone? What if George Gershwin had written Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. theme song? Classically trained pianist and composer Nahre Sol has amassed more than 800,000 YouTube subscribers and 75 million views answering those kinds of musical genre-blending questions, as well as making complex musical concepts accessible to everyone. Sol brings her playfully fresh take on chamber music to Middlebury College’s Mahaney Arts Center, where she’ll perform works both original and familiar, including jazz standard “Autumn Leaves” — in the style of several heavyweight classical composers, of course.
