Marlboro Music Festival

The New Yorker dubbed the Marlboro Music Festival “the classical world’s most coveted retreat.” Now in its 75th season, southern Vermont’s chamber music mecca continues to inspire at Persons Auditorium with a month of open rehearsals and performances that pull back the curtain on collaborative musicianship. Unlike most showcases, preplanned programs are tossed out the window in favor of more fluid decisions made by the artists on-site. In fact, of the 250ish works explored throughout the season, only a quarter actually make it to the stage. One thing is certain: You’re getting the very best stuff.
