Lecture: James H. Maroney Jr.

The former American art specialist at Sotheby’s New York is the author of Fresh Perspectives on Grant Wood, Charles Sheeler, and George H. Durrie (2019), in which he makes the case for reattributing four 19th-century genre paintings from Durrie to James B. Clonney. In this talk, he presents his arguments based on stylistic, technical and archival evidence, as well as historical contextualization.
