Clinical psychologist, writer, researcher, and advocate Allison J. Applebaum, PhD, focuses on addressing the needs of caregivers – the family and friends of patients who serve a critical and often unrecognized role on the healthcare team. She works with healthcare systems worldwide to develop support programs for caregivers, draw attention to their unique needs across various illnesses and care settings, and implement systems-level changes that facilitate support and integrate caregivers more formally into the healthcare team. Presented as part of the Osher Center for Integrative Health's 2026 Laura Mann Integrative Healthcare Lecture Series.
