Landlady, Disco Phantom, Osage Orange

Landlady is the brainchild of vocalist and saxophonist Adam Schatz, perhaps best known for his work with Man Man, Father Figures and the occasional cameo with Vampire Weekend. But his own band, which grew out of a residency at a bar in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, is perhaps his most wildly creative venture yet. According to the scribes at Pitchfork, the band’s debut, Upright Behavior, “invokes the Band if they had Dirty Projectors’ skewed sense of song structure.” Catch Landlady at the Monkey House in Winooski this Friday, April 24, as part of the bar’s monthly Disco Phantom Presents series.
