Kizuna Dance creates works that celebrate Japanese language, culture and history through movement. Founded in 2014 by artistic director and Middlebury College graduate Cameron McKinney, the New York City-based company weaves hip-hop, house and contemporary movements in dynamic and emotional cross-cultural productions. The company treats Greensboro dance fans to three repertory works: “Koibito,” a dark and poignant piece about chaos and missed connections; “Three Poisons,” an exploration of the three unwholesome roots in Buddhism — ignorance, attachment and craving; and “Foretoken,” inspired by visual artist Manabu Ikeda.
