“The Girl With the Purple Hair” at Compass Music and Arts Center in Brandon is a retrospective of the quilter and fiber artist, who has been making work for more than 50 years. Driven by intuitive and playful energy, Reilly sees her art as a by-product of life’s twists and turns: “The artwork is just the evidence that you have lived and listened to the intuitions and followed through,” she says. “The ideas are always developing within us. Life is the muse.” Reilly moved to Vermont in 2004, and much of her work features rural, seasonal landscapes.
