Chicago-based roots-and-blues musician Joe Goodkin will perform The Blues of Achilles, his contemporary take on Homeric epic at UVM. Joe's song cycles, The Blues of Achilles and The Odyssey, retell both stories in a bracingly contemporary, American musical idiom, making the ancient poems' timeless themes of war, loss, and love sing to a modern audience.
