Growing up in the paper
mill town of Lincoln, Maine, JACOB AUGUSTINE started out
playing metal music in defiance of the town’s straightlaced,
conservative vibes. After a brief sojourn to Los Angeles,
Augustine returned to his home state and relaunched
as a singer-songwriter in Portland before pausing his
career to care for his ailing mother. After a decade
away from recording, Augustine is back with a new
album, a tribute to his late mother. I Love You Forever
dwells on themes of grief, perseverance and trying to find
yourself when your teacher is gone. Augustine swings
through Winooski on Sunday, May 17, for a
performance at the Monkey House
with opener Ashna Maj Hille.
