According to the New York Times, the Infamous Stringdusters “don’t leave bluegrass behind; they’re stretching it from within.” Traditional musicians with a jam-band mentality, these five award-winning players transition from old-time Appalachian melodies to free-form jams without pause. Armed with multipart harmonies and undeniable musicality, the group’s unstructured approach to bluegrass expands the genre’s possibilities. On any given night, the Nashville-based performers will dive headfirst into improvisational, instrumental riffs, then circle back to polished arrangements. The band heads to the Northeast Kingdom as part of a national tour for the 2014 release of Let It Go.
