Chicago-based musician Erik Hall largely performs under the moniker In Tall Buildings. But the multi-instrumentalist has also played and recorded with avant-garde rock band His Name Is Alive and rocksteady-infused group Wild Belle. He just released his third LP, Akinetic, which cleverly upends stylistic elements of disparate genres and reframes them into a groovy patchwork of introspective curiosities. The record features a refreshing amalgamation of airy folk-rock and twinkling electro-pop, featuring both the artist’s rootsy inclinations and his technological proclivities. In Tall Buildings performs on Saturday, March 31, at the Monkey House in Winooski. Locals Paper Castles and Lowell Thompson add support.
