Preservation Burlington, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the city’s historic resources, opens the door to the past with its annual self-guided tour of eye-catching Queen City homes. Maps in hand, history buffs and architecture aficionados hoof it to several notable Hill Section abodes to feast their eyes on features such as stately columns and an expansive wraparound porch. In a nod to Burlington’s agricultural past, the tour also showcases the Intervale Center’s 19th-century farmhouse and two historic barns. Here, folks who need to refuel after all that walking can nosh on American Flatbread pizza baked in an on-site wood-fired oven.
