Vermont classical music lovers may recall the Heath Quartet from their 2016 stint as the Middlebury College Performing Arts Series’ first quartet in residence. The United Kingdom-based foursome, formed in 2002, returns to the college with a new second violinist and a varied repertoire program. Violinists Oliver Heath and Sara Wolstenholme, violist Gary Pomeroy, and cellist Christopher Murray bring their bow-and-string mastery to works by Joseph Haydn, Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn and 20th-century composer Michael Tippett. Professor Larry Hamberlin primes listeners with a preshow lecture in Room 221.
