“Like all great art forms, film has the power to transform through its distinct artistic language,” writes Vermont International Film Festival executive director Orly Yadin in a March blog post. “The more we understand how this language has developed and is created, the more we can develop an appreciation for cinema and interpret its power to communicate.” Presented in partnership with Lyric Theatre, the 2019 Global Roots Film Festival focuses on musical films and their role in cinema history.
