History can be depressing. But it can also be hilarious, as evidenced by the podcast The Dollop. Co-hosts Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds explore weird but true stories from America’s past. They riff on topics including the infamous Loomis Fargo robbery of 1997, the life of one-term president George H.W. Bush and the contentious 1876 election of Rutherford B. Hayes. A standup comedian and writer, Reynolds is known for scripting episodes of sitcoms such as “Idiotsitter,” “You’re the Worst” and “Arrested Development.” He performs Thursday through Saturday, June 13 through 15, at the Vermont Comedy Club in Burlington.
