Ebn Ezra, Radiant Baby, the City View

Burlington-based electro-pop composer Ebn Ezra might not be of this world. His debut album, Pax Romana, seems to come from a universe where time is cyclical — or maybe doesn’t exist at all. How else could he, real name Ethan Wells, manage to perfectly blend the sounds and essences of the past, present and future? His work is reminiscent of ancient choral music, new age superstar Enya, 1950s doo-wop, and 1980s synth-pop and R&B. A romantic, retro-futuristic aesthetic ties his music together through breathtaking ballads and thumping, danceable jams. Ebn Ezra performs on Friday, October 20, at the Monkey House in Winooski.
