Dom Flemons is best known as a founding member of the Grammy-winning Americana trio the Carolina Chocolate Drops. He recently left that group and struck out on his own, releasing a new solo album of original material, Prospect Hill, that is drawing widespread acclaim in old-time folk circles. This includes praise from venerable Music City rag the Nashville Scene, which rightly called Flemons an “Americana master.” Flemons plays a seated show at the Higher Ground Showcase Lounge in South Burlington this Monday, October 13. Grace & Tony open.
