Join us for an evening with author and historian Professor Connor Williams as he discusses his book A Promise Delivered. Williams shares his firsthand experience as lead historian for the Naming Commission, which worked to rename U.S. military bases originally honoring Confederate leaders. Over twenty months, the commission gathered public input and selected new names reflecting the nation’s highest ideals, highlighting ten remarkable Americans. As recent efforts to restore original names renew debate, Williams offers a timely, human look at how we remember the past. Books will be available for purchase from the Flying Pig Bookstore.
