“When I find something I like, I really latch onto it,” songbird Sally Olson told Seven Days’ Eva Sollberger in a 2016 episode of her video series Stuck in Vermont. For more than three years, the Rutland native has immersed herself in all things Carpenters. Fronted by crooner Karen Carpenter, the famed 1970s duo topped the charts with easy-listening numbers such as “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “Rainy Days and Mondays.” Olson and her band pay homage to the sister-brother act with their note-for-note Carpenters Tribute Concert, capturing the essence of the late singer right down to her hairstyle, costumes, makeup and gestures. Historical commentary complements the concert, giving fans a glimpse of the woman behind the music.
