It must be said that members of the Book Arts Guild of Vermont are always ready to turn another page. That is, to turn it into a piece of art. In their group exhibition currently on view at Burlington’s S.P.A.C.E. Gallery, artists display creations that use the book or its attendant parts, or are otherwise inspired by the concept or content of books. The volumes are variously cut up, torn, sculpted, sewn, collaged and folded like accordions. Text might appear, but these works are not necessarily for reading. You can still check them out, though.
