Blood Drum Spirit returns to Vermont, with a blend of improvisational jazz, traditional world melodies/rhythms reimagined, as well as original compositions. Drummer royal hartigan, bassist Wes Brown, and saxophonist David Bindman are joined by Kevin McNeal on guitar. When not touring the U.S., West Africa, Asia, or Europe, the quartet has previously performed throughout Vermont at the Bennington Center for the Arts, SolarFest, as well as St. Michaels, Castleton, and Middlebury Colleges. The quartet offers music, and the act of presenting it, for a just, truthful, non-exploitative, peace-filled relationship with each other and the world.
