'BLACK'

DA Mekonnen's experimental jazz project dragonchild presents the Vermont debut of BLACK to the Chandler Center for the Arts in this immersive, multimedia spatial sound performance. Conceived & transmitted by DA Mekonnen, dragonchild draws on decades of musical experimentation, embodied spiritual practice, & critical thinking—culminating in their debut work, BLACK. In this innovative listening experience, four one-sided vinyl records will be played simultaneously to create an immersive swarm of sound using an eight-speaker playback system. BLACK will be presented along with visuals of Ethiopia's volcanic lake Erta Ale from photographer Michael Tsegaye. 3 listening sessions at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30pm
