When Madeleine Albright was sworn in as secretary of state in 1997, she became the first female to hold the post and the highest-ranking woman to have served in the United States government at the time. During her four years in the position, she was a champion of human rights and democracy, and earned a reputation for straight talk. Albright brings insight and humor to a discussion of her life and career, tackling challenges facing today’s world leaders and America’s role in the global community as part of Norwich University’s Todd Lecture Series.
