The Flynn is bringing some magic back to Burlington with a new live performance series called the Window on Main. The performing arts center is currently accepting applications from local artists for the new venture. The series coincides with the prime holiday shopping weekends of December 11 through 13, and December 18 through 20, and will feature multiple 40-minute sets each day.

Performers from all disciplines — music, performance art, dance, theater, etc. — are encouraged to apply, and those selected will be compensated. However, only solo, duo or trio acts will be accepted, in an effort to maintain social distancing within the space.

Attendees can only view the shows from the sidewalk through the studio's large windows. An outdoor sound system will deliver audio. Onlookers are expected to wear masks and practice physical distancing.

The shows will be the Flynn's first performances within the theater's main building since it canceled all 2020 performances on Friday, March 13. In August and September, the Flynn held a series of outdoor concerts in Burlington and Winooski green spaces called Hurly Burly, which primarily featured local artists of color.
