So, last week marked the height of sugaring season here in Vermont, andthat meant that everywhere you drove in the state you could find smokebillowing from the sides of mountains, where it before seemd impossiblethat houses even existed. As I rode my bike to school last week, Icould swear I could smell cooking sap mixed with woodsmoke everywhere.

Brian Brown of iBurlington finally noticed the free stand-alone Weekend section that the Burlington Free Press has been printing and plugging since the end of last year, and he predicts Seven Days' swift demise.
Writes Brian:
I am convinced they can not survive more than a couple of years now that the Free Press has decided to do something about them.

Stowe resident Tom Evslin's hackoff.com made the short-list for the first Lulu Blooker Prize. Winners were announced today, and Evslin made runner-up for the fiction award (nice, but no check). Congrats all the same!
